For The Poem Entry - ' She Whispers'

She Whispers

I hear her soft voice just beyond my window pane;
Soft and enticing, and promising rain
Her supple fingers caress the leaves into bright chatter;
But soon their talk is cut short as they begin to scatter

My eyes see past the glass into the wispy world beyond
And here I find you raising ripples upon the old pond
Whistling a familiar tune unto my ears from under the eaves;
Breathing life into the limbs of once still trees

And I wonder what your breathy voice could possibly be saying;
The open fields of daisies you have bowed down into praying
What stories of distant travels you carry in your heart;
The willows on the river bank you did playfully part

Oh, lovely wind, tell me of the vast oceans whereupon you did sail;
Whipping the blue wonder into waves with your gale
Tell me how the bee floated on your breath;
How the boughs nodded as you came and then left

I want to hear how the old creek sighed;
As you swept through carrying the sweet rain you cried
And my ears would never tire;
To hear how you lifted the birds in flight higher

I promise not to tell another breathing soul;
If your secrets to me you will unfold
Not another ear would my mouth seek;
If your secrets you would allow me only a peek
